Currey and Company - Winterthur Collection

Winterthur Collection by Currey and Company

H. F. du Pont and his father, Henry Algernon du Pont, designed Winterthur in the spirit of 18th- and 19th-century European country houses. He filled it with his collection of European art and decorative arts and American art and antiques. Now a museum, Winterthur has 175 period-room displays of decorative arts spanning 1640 to 1860.

Currey & Company, known today for its vibrant collection of lighting products, started its existence in 1988 creating historic garden furnishings from the Winterthur Museum and the Smithsonian Institution.

Currey & Company is now best known for lighting. They produce chandeliers, wall sconces, table and floor lamps characterized by the attention and detailing that goes into their manufacturing, hand forging  and hand finishing.

Currey & Company is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Slender strips of seeded glass are precisely hand-cut and fitted into the curved frame of the Wharton Wall Sconce.
